You lot keep going on about Firefox, so I have weakened and downloaded it to give it another try.I have already come accross one snag. Of course my IE spell checker will not work. I looked on the Firefox website for an extension, but there does not appear to be an approved one. I tried Google and found quite a list. The first one that I installed will not appear on the browser page, so I have got rid of it. Before I go back to IE, does anyone have any suggestions as to installing a spell checker that will show on the page and work please? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Unfortunately I don't remember what achieved it eventually, so I can't really help you.But you are using the bottom part of the page; i.e. the installation for Firefox 1.0.x ?[edited to run Spellbound]. It is obviously taking its toll on you - your avatar picture is looking more haggard by the day.IE may not be perfect but it works reliably and the associated spell checker is a breeze. andsome Posted April 17, 2005 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2005 Back again. I downloaded and installed what seemed to me to be the correct things. When I clicked extensions, I was told that the spell checker could not be installed. As I have always been perfectly happy with IE, I have decided that this lot is too much trouble. If they cannot make the installation of a spell checker easier than this then I am no longer interested. If they simplify things in the future then I may give it another try. Incidentally, I can tell you that it takes a hell of a lot of shifting from the computer. The uninstall left a load of stuff behind. I had to delete files from Windows Explorer, then run a search and delete about a dozen or more bits and pieces. Crap Cleaner found more rubbish, and finally RegScrub XP found another three items. I then found another entry in the registry.Regarding 'Er indoors Doug, she sends her thanks. She was up soon after me as she is going to visit our daughter while I play a bowls cup match.
