Hi folks. I will pop in when I can during the next week to see if you are behaving yourselves. I will be with 'Er indoors baby sitting in Shrewsbury. I can get on line on Jackie's crap top, but as it's dial up it's all a bit of a pain.

Our daughter is getting married on Friday to boyfriend Adam, and we will be looking after the kids while they go to Morocco on honeymoon. It will be an unusual wedding in EVERY sense of the word. Jackie is a very unusual young woman at the best of times. The wedding is to take place in a building on the edge of a field, a civil ceremony. It is at Llanraedr Ym Mochant, just inside Wales, in spitting distance of Oswestry. After the ceremony we all move into the field and go down to the waterfall, where a pagan blessing will be given by a white witch. The wedding feast, which is self catering with yours truly spending £225 on meat, will be either a picnic on the grass, or chairs, or in one of two marquees, whichever takes the fancy. If the thunder storms have not moved in by then, there will be merry making for the kids, followed by a campfire, which they intend to keep burning all night. Many guests are camping in the field, but we along with several others have chickened out and opted for bed and breakfast. On Saturday morning there will be a treasure hunt, by car. They have liaised with several amusement business in the area, and obtained discount rates for helicopter rides, hot air balloon rides, para gliding, abseiling etc, etc. On Saturday evening someone is preparing a gigantic cauldron of curry for the evening meal, followed by another camp fire. On Sunday morning we all stagger off home.

What a terrific way to get married andsme, sounds like you'll all have a great time. Best wishes to you, your daughter and all your family. Some photo's would be nice.  :)

I will be a bit busy, but I'm hoping 'Er indoors will do a better job than she usually does. If not my son will put his on a CD for me.

We were very lucky. It tipped down on Friday morning, but cleared up well before the 2-30 wedding. I was very surprised how much we all enjoyed the pagan blessing ceremony, and the weather stayed good for that also. It belted down with rain while we were in the marquee stuffing our faces, but we all had a great time with plenty of music and dancing in the marquee. Saturday also stayed fine but cool and everything went off well. The only problem was that we have been eaten alive by midges. I have just popped in home after dropping my sister and her husband off at his brothers, and will now go back to Shrewsbury for a weeks baby sitting.
