Broadband speed tests

Were they widely different? Thing is that the speed will vary from moment to moment and it depends on all sorts of variables. Even multiple tests with the same testing device will give different results between each attempt.

I always use http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp but as this is a UK website I don't think it can be used outside the UK?

I think trackrat is in the UK.

I've used ADSL Guide and it's good enough for me. You'd have to be pretty desperate to spend 10 quid on this.

Do a few tests over a period and see how they vary.

How I would love a broadband connection like that - 3.5 mb! :o

Crikey your upload speed is quite slow as here in the UK our upload speed is around 256 kb.

By the way your chosen speed test is a bit confusing to say the least i.e. the one you posted in reply #10

Yeah but this is Spain, they have just doubled the speed to 1/2 MB, which is only half yours anyway :D

Telefonica do up to 3MB, but want an arm and a leg for it, cos they have to use two donkeys :D

I dont mind sitting here for two seconds instead of one :D

It was McAffee test sight i used, and the clock does swing a bit so i spose the screenshot caught it on the down

Mr Telefonica has just doubled the speed again for free  :D

Good news!

I notice that they have doubled both your upload and download speed! B)

Yes very handy :D and no capping on any of it, although i dont download a lot. Up to 8mb on some packadges, but only 640kb up.

Sorry i scanned the info and its gone on as a file rather than a pic.

Andsome I notice that your upstream is slightly below the UK average of 256 kb and this must be standard practice for cable companies?

I wouldn't have a clue to be honest. I don't know what the average is.
