andsome Posted August 21, 2005 Report Share Posted August 21, 2005 When I installed Quicktime some time ago, because a program needed it, IT Tunes also installed even though I ticked for it NOT to do so. As I will never use this program, I went into ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS this morning and tried to remove it. It just will not disappear. I have gone through the procedure several times. There is no removal tool of it's own. Has anyone else had this problem? I know that the program is doing no harm, but I resent a program deciding to be boss on my computer. If I take it out by hand via Windows Explorer, and then edit the registry, am I likely to cause problems with Quicktime? I know there is some association with Quicktime, and am wondering if there are perhaps shared files. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have tried putting in a CD, and amongst the options offered is to play the CD using I.Tunes, which naturally no longer works. Neither of these two programs is offered as an alternative. However if I open either one, and search for the CD, both will play it. I am well and truly puzzled. As you can see, I have installed both correctly. Origionally I used it for my creative muvo...with no problem ....but then I bought an I pod shuffle ..... I have looked through my other programs, and have so far not found any which do not work. To play Radio four I was asked to install Real Player. Radio four still plays OK, though it does not say which program is playing it, it just opens and plays when I visit the site and select play.
