doug
Now and again the chevrons at the left of the thread titles showing unread posts seem to stick! Even though I know I have read them the chevrons stay. Even tried clicking the "mark all posts as read" link near the bottom of the Forums page. this changes from blue to black but the chevrons remain. If I go to each thread and read them hten go back to the active topics page the chevrons have gone for the posts I've just read. Is it me? :unsure:Just to fool me as soon as I posted the above, when I refreshed the screen all the chevrons had vanished. Really puzzled now. -pops-
I'm finding the chevrons quite random in whether they are there or not. I've just looked through several threads, read this one and refreshed to check out what you mean - yes, some of the chevrons have gone on read threads, some haven't. Refreshed again - all chevrons are back as they were when I booted this morning.
andsome
I never bother with them. I just look through Todays topics, and see who answered last. That way I know if there are any new postings.

andsome
The point is that if I have an interest in a topic and have posted to it, I can see if there has been another post by whose name is by that topic. Why should I need chevrons?

CurlyWhirly
I always use the option View New Posts and this works fine for me.By the way would I be right in thinking that these are chevrons?
doug
It's the corporal stripes inserted in front of the thread title. If you hover the mouse over it it then says "Goto last unread".
CurlyWhirly
Thanks for clearing that up for me Doug.
doug
That's OK, still doesn't explain why I get an erratic performance sometimes. Seems to be working OK to-night, just got in from collecting for my sponsorship.
