Of all of todays politicians, he had more honesty in his little finger than most have in their whole bodies. He stood for NO nonsense from his own party, and stood up firmly for what he personally believed in. He was rare amongst todays self seeking, grabbing bunch of power mad politicians. It is a pity that you chose to make this statement. It is well known that I do not believe in the honours system of this country, and I wish he had not taken that title. That is now water under the bridge. He was however a man of far more integrity than most who follow a political career. He was afraid of no one, especially those with whom he disagreed in his own party. He was a good constituency MP and also did a lot of good work for sport, and for the youth of the country. I hope that no one else besmirches what I hoped would be a tribute topic for Tony Banks, a person who I disagreed with on basic political beliefs, but a person for whom I had the greatest respect.
