ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted January 18, 2006 Report Share Posted January 18, 2006 Sorry - found the word in the other thread and couldn't help using it :) Made a remark in the backup forum, but it's probably better to start it here.I think we (not so much we users, but the admins) should think up a plan of what should happen if the forum goes down again - scheduled or unscheduled.Couldn't the forum's IP address be rerouted to another server, e.g. http://www.neoplanetbackup.co.uk/, with an announcement, and perhaps a link to the backup forum?In the current situation, anyone who doesn't know about the backup forum is left without a clue what's happening. The second server (http://neoplanetbackup.co.uk/) does already exist, why not reroute the IP address to there if the main forum is down? And if the server's down, then the warning on the page won't work either (hence the "Cannot contact server" messages). If it is just a few hours, then never mind, but if it's 2 or 3 days, then that could still acomplish something.Also, the NP backup forum should be renamed to Windows Forum Backup site.
