I've just done my weekly backups

I have gotten into the same habit......usually doing mine over the weekend. It saved me earlier this week.

We are seeing my daughter this weekend at the Ohio State University and will be installing Acronis on her computer for backup to an external hard drive. I also plan to move all her music files to that drive as her main drive is just about full.

I don't do my backups on a weekly basis as IMHO it's overkill.

I usually carry it out every fortnight.

Depends how much your data has changed and how valuable it is, I suppose.

My son runs a computer based business and it is vital for him not to lose any data if he wishes to continue in business. For myself, I have a fair amount of valuable data on one machine which changes frequently - it would cost me a lot to lose it. The other machines I'm not so bothered about. The one for the g'kids gets backed up when I think about it - about once a month the other, like yours CW, once every two weeks or so.

Yes I agree as he runs his own business, then it makes sense to make regular backups.

Personally I don't have any essential data on my PC as all I do with it is surf the internet and play games, so making backups every 2 weeks is okay for me.

I wouldn't want the hassle of having to reinstall my operating system and applications though, so I would rather continue making regular backups besides I quite enjoy it!
