JA Henckels Knives

I recently received a very nice bonus from work and would like to spread the cheer to my family while saving a good chunk of it. (My father passed away at age 52 and he worked to pay off the house with no real vacations for us 5 kids.......my Mom died penniless as all her money went to a nursing home...........I am taking a different tack on life........live for today but save for tomorrow.............there is a balance. ;) )

Anyway....................

As a surprise gift for my wife (she is very practical) I was thinking of an heirloom quality set of kitchen knives and cannot get past the quality of the JA Henckel's 'Pro S' series knives. I have yet to read anything bad about these knives and the come with a lifetime warranty.

Does anyone here have any experience with these knives?

epinions and Amazon

Seems they're popular with most of their users, but at that price I'd sort of expect a Chef to be included in the package.

All the reviews look great. I found a source that sells the 8 pc. set far cheaper than what you show.

Anyway, my wife always wanted a great set of kitchen knives and I was looking for heirloom quality.

Life is too short and I love her...........so I splurged and bought her the 8 piece set:

:)

Our daughter will one day enjoy these same knives. :flowers:

There is a tradition here that you must NEVER give a knife as a gift. Doing so indicates aggression towards the recipient.

The way to get around this is to sell knives at a nominal amount of the lowest value legal coin.

Good grief!!! Knives and cooking pans - how boring!! :0

There has to be better 'heirlooms'..............

How about a nice piece of jewellery to pass on - or a beautiful ornament......

Everyone has different tastes. The knives are something she has always wanted. She is not into jewelry or ornaments.

:0 Maybe there's an ulterior motive.........

:P
