"Braveheart"

Oh dear, let me explain, Braveheart is a Hollywood fiction made by the Anglophobe Mel Gibson, who also made the egregious The Patriot. Fiction not to be confused with history. Why do so many people swallow the pathetic myth of the peaceful Scots crofters bullied by the evil English thugs. Border history was a series of smash and grab raids, wars and politics involving the French and Spanish for centuries, one thing it wasn't was one sided.

As to Bloody Sunday, yes I can say it, one aberration. Can you say Ku Klux Clan, Noraid, Abu Ghraib, My Lai, Guantanamo Bay.

As to

it is certainly true that most countries, including England, have done the same, perhaps worse, that you blame Americans for

I never claimed the British were whiter than white, but US history has more than its fare share of low points. To suggest that the English were in some way responsible, or that it's OK because somebody else may have done similar is a low kind of sophistry.

This isn't intended as a flame war, nothing personal, just a rebuttal of your points.

It's true, I'm ashamed to say, as we did it to the Aborigines. We were also very much involved in slavery, if my history serves me.

Had it not been for Columbus there would have been nowhere to take them to, and had it not been for other Africans there would have been no slaves to buy or sell.

However, had it not been for the slave trade think of all the good reggae that would never have happened, Bob Marley would never have wailed and Trad jazz would not have existed. Not only that Klu Klux Klan would have been standing around on street corners wondering why they were there. They may have taken up knitting or raffia work.

Totally fiction? Not so. ;)

Yep.

My point is that every Country has skeletons in their closet. Why some chose (once again) to bash America when their house is made of glass is actually funny.

BTW: The KKK is not a government sponsored or supported group. :D
