It was to do with the fact I had to buy codecs from nvidia and without them wmp misbehaved,something to do with my gaphics card obviously.I wouldn't buy the codecs so I dumped wmp. Now I've bought those codecs but, after I download wmp 10 I get a message Windows Media Technologies. "This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of windows". Boris Posted May 31, 2006 Report Share Posted May 31, 2006 Just a thought ?Try running the System File Checker tool to scan and restore missing or damaged system files, and then run Windows Media Player Setup again.To run System File Checker, do the following:1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Command Prompt. 2. In the Command Prompt window, type Sfc /scannow. You'll probably need your original XP CD - when it asks for it. andsome Posted June 1, 2006 Report Share Posted June 1, 2006 Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you caused the problem by removing WMP in the first place. I have always had WMP on four different computers, and have NEVER had to buy anything from anywhere in order for it to run properly and not misbehave.
