USB REmovable "Pen" Drive

Recommended Posts

I have been given a small 128 MB pen drive which slots into the USB port but I am at a loss what to use it for. Following pops advice, I back up the whole system regularly to a separate hard drive. I also back up the important stuff, which I would be lost without (ie. My Money files) to floppy disc as well as to my computer's hard drive.

If I want to show photos to friends and relatives I burn them to CD and take the disc around and play them on their TV via the DVD player. My HP software allows me to do this.

So what do others use these ubiquitous USB drives for? It is such a sweet little thing, only about 2 inches long and fits onto a key ring---it seems a shame not to give it a life.

Thos.

They make a nice portable photo album to bore the relatives/friends/neighbours with (provided they have a computer - which is very likely).

I use one for transferring bits and bobs of data between my own (home) and my son's (work) machines.

If you have a convenient mantlepiece, place it right on the front edge of it, and then you can claim it is always handy.

Alternatively plant a few pines alongside it, and lo and behold you have a tree lined drive.

Try filling it with ink.
