Did anyone see the Portugal/Holland fiasco last night?

I bet the ref is on the way home today.

John Motson turned into a comedian - ' Does he(the ref) know there are 3 players left without a yellow card?'

and - (looking at the row of red card rejects) - 'It's turning into a rogue's gallery over there....'

It was a disgrace and I thought that, though Holland joined in, much of the early ugly stuff was down to Portugal. What can the ref do though in view of those high "tackles" except yellow and red card offending players.

I didn't hear Motson. I tend to watch with the sound turned off, not liking people telling me what I can see perfectly well.

You should turn it up for a laugh, he even told everyone that the young striker who hasn`t played yet in the England team only has a provisional driving licence, he`s a goldmine of worthy facts, yeah right

What's this then ?, the only game called football I've heard of over their is the one where they are armour plated and only play for about a minute at a time. So you have a new game similar to our rugby football then.

Edit: PS we have two types of rugby football over here, one is about as wimpy as your football, the other would frighten the life out of your lot. You must put up some photo's of this new game.

Our girls play a game called rounders - you call it baseball but with a difference - your hands are possibly too soft to catch the ball because you wear large gloves.

Rugby football has already been mentioned - you really ought to watch a game to see how real men play a real man's game devoid of body armour or stoppages every few seconds to have a chat and get your breath back.

They weren't THAT bad! Bad decision on the penalty though. :( I wanted Australia to win.........

I thought they cut quite a lot of their usual diving out, but of course saved a 5.5 dive for the end.

It would have been nice to see the Ozzies go on :)

Getting back to the original topic, I think the ref and the players were equally to blame. The ref completely lost control and contributed to the general fiasco.

No regarding American football, yes, the States did enter a team in the tournament. But that other game where as Rong said they only play a minute or two before stopping, and pad themselves up like sissies, it's hardly worth a mention. Similar thing applies to American Rounders.
