doug
Reading the reports of the record breaking diesel powered JCB car brings back memories of a very old joke.Paddy had a win on the Lottery and was planning to treat himself to a JCB GT.So it wasn't a daft idea after all. :D

catgate
I am not sure if, or how, the two things are connected, but I saw a piece yesterday that said Ford wanted to divest itself of Jaguar and Land Rover, and JCB were possibly interested in aquiring Jaguar.May be Paddy will get his JCB GT after all. andsome
This has been headline news over here, and everyone knows about it. I know that frequently in the US, anything non US is left out of the news, maybe this is the answer here.

doug
My apologies jason, I was so taken with the news as I was reading the paper and that very old joke Paddy joke)sprang to mind and I had to post it (apologies to our Irish community). That's why I put it in the Lounge. Pops soon posted the link to the BBC link. catgate
I think the answer to Jason's problem is connected to the noisey silence that would echo around America due to a British diesel engine breaking the world record on American soil (well, alright then, salt).
