-pops- Posted September 24, 2006 Report Share Posted September 24, 2006 I've been using the beta version of WMP 11 for some months now with no problems whatever.On the general issue of free software, it depends on what the software is whether I use it or not. I most definitely do not install everything that is on offer for no charge by any means, in fact I am very, very circumspect about any software. First of all it has to be needed, useful and reasonably easy to get on with. Regarding the article in the link you gave, that online "newspaper" is one of the original "never let the truth get in the way of a good story" efforts of red top journalism. I feel a less biased viewpoint should be sought before condemning WMP 11 out of hand. What the article says may be true but, I have to say that it hasn't had any effect on my use of the software in the time I've had it installed.
