What a wonderful place!

One day we wandered around Reaffles then had to avail ourselves of the facilities. We then mosied down to Chinatown ( The Chines heritage Centre was marvellous) Spent sometime there then made our way back to the hotel when we both felt the urge! So we availed ourselves of their facilities. That night I said to Anne, "do you realise that to-day we Peeed in Raffles in the morning and Peeed in Macdonalds in the afternoon?" A red letter day.

Our Hotel was The Fullerton, which used to be The Post Office - a very large colonial building. Our Queen once had Tea there but our Blessed Tone had also stayed there. We had a very large room with a view over the harbour - with a balcony. We had a pair of rattan armchairs with cushions and a table out there. We soon got into the habit of going back to the hotel late afternoon. I would ring down for a bucket of crushed ice to make some cold packs for Anne's legs which were applied while her legs were propped up on a pillow on the low table. We would then enjoy our afternoon Tiffin and doze over books. this particular afternoon the room maid had made up our room and unfortunately lcoked us out on the balcony. I didn't realise until we started to sort ourselves out for the evening. Now our room was on the 6th floor. I tried shouting for help but without any response. I had visions of being locked out there all night - quite warm though. But the thought of no evening meal and God forbid NO Breakfast drove me to extreme measures. Each balcony was divided off fro the others with walls. So with great trepidation I swung around each wall fo a total of 5 rooms until I found one where a chap was lying on his bed playing with his mobile - he was wearing shorts though. I knocked on his window and gesticulated vigorously. I then saw his wife appear around their bathroom door. She vanished and re-appeared with dressing gown. The chap realised by then that I needed to be let in. I explained the predicament which left them both in fits of laughter. I did have the key swipe card for our room so all was well. After informing the Conciege of the incident - with instructions that no action was to be taken we found a very nice basket of fruit on our return that evening.

Sorry can't find any hint of a speull chucker on this PC!
