AlanHo
I bought one of these special plugs for switching off the power to all my peripherals when my computer shuts down - and switching them back on again when I re-boot.It works very well and now stops me leaving printers, scanner, sound system, etc inadvertently on all the timeClick hereI purchased mine from Here
andsome
It's cheaper to always switch them off when you have finished with them. Mine all run from the same anti surge plug and this is switched off at the mains when I close down.
Thos
Yes. I have a panel which does the same. It is called an Intellipanel in your link but it works in the same way.Thos.
catgate
Do you suppose all the country's municipal authorities and all the departmental stores etc. will be using the same things for controlling their Christmas illuminations? AlanHo
I find it very usefull - but I will admit to being less disciplined than andsome. I always remember to close down the computer but my wiring requires me to crawl under the desk tops to get at the power switches for the peripherals and I just couldn't be bothered. This plug gives me surge protection and an easier life. r4may
I have all my system connected through a single Surge protector so that when I switch it off the whole system is disconnected from the mains, simulat to andsome's I suspect

andsome
Do you suppose all the country's municipal authorities and all the departmental stores etc. will be using the same things for controlling their Christmas illuminations? In the case of a good many Labour councils you won't see Christmas mentioned, it will be something daft like Wintermass.
