Malk Posted January 12, 2007 Report Share Posted January 12, 2007 The icon on the screenshot appears again and again after reboot even though i went and removed the tick in the option "show icon in taskbar"Anyone have a solution for this as its rather annoying to remove it after every reboot. -pops- Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 It is quite difficult to see the item under discussion and, it is quite difficult for many of us, I'm sure, to read the Danish text.Try this, if you haven't already done so:Click on Start then RIGHT click on a blank area just above the start button. Click on Properties and then on the Taskbar tab. Click on Customise and you should see your icon in the list. Click on the text to the right (something like Hide when inactive) and click on your choice of action from the dropdown box. Malk Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 The icon is the icon you normally see on laptops, it shows that you have enabled power management.Just click on the screenshot and it will appear in 1024x768 :)As i wrote i have to remove the tick from "enable icon" after every reboot, rather tiresome. Scarecrow Man Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 It is the power management icon not the safely remove hardware icon (sorry about small pictures)It can be disabled by:right click the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > advanced and uncheck the 1st check box "Always show icon in Taskbar"Or just go back to the dialog box you posted in your screen shot and uncheck the 1st box.Sorry I unsure of what the names of all this would be in Danish. We have a laptop (Compaq Presario 2100) and the battery icon keeps disappearing. We've done the same as you Malk, trying to retain the battery icon so that we monitor the battery charge! Click on Properties and then on the Taskbar tab. Click on Customise and you should see your icon in the list. Click on the text to the right (something like Hide when inactive) and click on your choice of action from the dropdown box. It takes longer to explain this than actually do it! Especially in Irene's case, when she wants to have the icon, but cannot.P.S. I used to have more than 20 systray icons, and believe me, I was very happy to get rid of each and everyone that I didn't need there.
