AlanHo Posted February 26, 2007 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 Have any of our more senior members any recommendations for holiday insurance for a couple aged 66 and 70 respectively and an idea of the premiums they paid. I have slight angina/blood pressure (drug controlled) and type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) - so am looking for an insurer who will accomodate this. We are going to Tenerife mid-March for a couple of weeks to get some sunshine, have a quiet time and "celebrate" my 70th birthday (and get away from family and friend hollabaloo)I have got single trip quotes from SAGA and Age Concen - just wondered who else might be viable. They have, I believe, no upper age limit.I have a Natwest Gold Card and one of the perks is free annual travel insurance. Unlike all the other companies who wanted to hike the premium because of my relatively slight ailments - they charged a standard total premium for us as a couple (for our age, destination and holiday duration) of £77 single trip but raised the excess on the policy to £300 for my heart pre-condition. The next lowest quote was SAGA at £119 with various excesses for the different elements of the cover.Annual insurance for my age and situation is looking nigh on impossible - the premiums are HUGE.May I thank those who contributed to the thread. My pre-registered details are Blood pressure/stroke and Herself's condition is Multiple Sclerosis daren't take any risks re-travel insurance and this is an annual policy covering several trips a year.
