The problem I have is how to get it to the right time as he never seems to keep any paperwork.It was purchased through a N/paper offer. It has Crane & Viceroy on the face with 3 buttons on the right hand side. holding the top button in sets the hands spinning & eventually stops at a 1/4 hr fast. Doing the same with the lower button does the same but stops at 5mins fast. It seems as if it is using the wrong time zone. The middle button just seems to move the second hand forward several seconds then the watch stops for 2/3 mins and the resumes. AlanHo Posted April 29, 2007 Report Share Posted April 29, 2007 I doubt that it is anything to do with time zones - if it was - the watch would out in units of 1 hour (or half hour for a very few countries).Is there any chance the minute hand was disturbed when the battery was changed so it has moved 90 degrees on its spindle ? It had instructions for setting the time manually, so set time exact, next morning it was 15 mins fast again. If it gets through tonight, which I think it will, it will be O/K. doug Posted May 2, 2007 Report Share Posted May 2, 2007 Hope it works, from what you have said it sounds as if it's re-setting itself at 02:00 but the minute hand is 15 mins fast. If this is the case then it is setting itself by a reference to an internal setting of the gears. These rotate the spindle that the minute hand is pushed on to. If it has been turned on the spindle then it will still show 15 mins fast tomorrow. If this is the case you will have to have the minute hand re-fitted. It should be just a matter of having it pull off and re-fitted. I used to do this with pressure guages when I was responsible for calibration and adjustment of pressure guages for Plessey Avionics. You do need the appropriate tools, so a short visit to a good watch maker will be required. Let us know how it is in the morning. Good luck! Followed the instructions given me by Coopers who Gandalph directed me to. Not exactly - I am usually pretty good with paperwork but my girlfrend is a manic tidier a she threw away my instructions. :0 I see that you finally solcved the problem ...I 've been battling with it for about two months now! I have just tried your new link and I have the same problem. Each time I try to download the file it only gets part way then stops. I have just tried 5 times and the longest download was 171 KB out of 425.76 KB - one was as short as 57 KB out of 425.76 KB.Last time it took about a dozen attempts before it did a full download.
