AlanHo
I had some words with my wife, and she had some paragraphs with me. I don't yet know what the ultimate sentence will be.

Irene
In spite of all the griping you men do about wives and marriage, there's an abundance of you still doing it!

We've been together since 1964. We never saw the necessity of getting married except as a restriction to us. Not one friend or acquaintance has been together in a couple for that long and most have gone through at least one divorce - some several. Still haven't remarried, but who knows, maybe one day. ;) As a matter of fact, it was the 42nd anniversary of our marriage yesterday! :D

Then after spending several years apart got together again but did not remarry. The sons had gone their own way and eventually they retired. The found a little place in France and then my friend suddenly went and died. What a mess she was left in due to the vagaries of French law. She would like to come back to UK but she only own 50% of the house. and if the French legal system knew the whole story she would not own any of it. Beware.
