andsome
Just downloaded it and run it. It found that my Office 2000 was out of date. I clicked on automatic updates for two of the office components, and received a message that the program could not be found. I will now do a system restore and wait until the program is more stable. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Secunia Personal Software InspectorVersion 0.9.0.0 (Release Candidate 1 - RC1)Completely re-designed interfaceThe new interface improves; Usability, responsiveness, features, and the presentation of scan results.Track your patch performanceGraphical overview of current and historic patch-performance 10 weeks back.Improved user friendliness for less-technical usersMost people naturally wish their PC to be as secure and updated as possible. With this in mind and the fact that some applications are are not always straight forward to update and patch, we have introduced a feature that basically will suppress applications that are potentially hard to patch from the overview pages. The idea is that: It is better to patch just one application than none at all.The new feature called "Easy-to-patch applications" is enabled by default, but can easily be disabled by users who wish to see all detected applications regardless. For each detected application there is now a "Toolbox" of features available:Direct Download LinkSolution WizardAbility to request a re-scan of a single applicationAccess to Online ReferencesTechnical DetailsAccess to application installation folders directly from the PSIIgnore Application (easy creation)Shortcut to Windows Add/Remove Programs application[*]Scan progress and details pageLive updated progress bar when a scan is runningLive updated step-by-step information when a scan is runningView when the last scan occurred and when next scheduled scan will take placeAbility to abort a scan in progress[*]PSI application settingsConfigurable if the PSI should start on bootConfigurable if the PSI should monitor your systemManage your Ignore Rules[*]Secunia ProfileCreate your own Secunia Profile to receive special benefits and be the first to participate in upcoming events and gimmicks! ;)[*]Detection of more applicationsThe PSI is currently able to detect and check more than 5,500 different applications (major branches). To clarify, by 1 application we mean ALL versions of a particular application. As an example, our rule for Opera 9.x is capable of detecting version 9.00, 9.01, 9.02, ..[snip].., 9.23, 9.24, 9.50 and so on. This also includes localised and future/not-yet-released versions.
