The 39-year-old was held after two police community support officers became suspicious when they spotted him using a laptop computer on a garden wall. Five are unsecured.Oddly, there is one unsecured network that seems to be always on, at a very high level (99 - 100% - so it must be close by) that nobody admits to owning. I publish a regular newsletter to keep members up-to-date with security issues. Open wireless networks was a hot topic a few months ago and I advised my members via my newsletter that I was able to piggy-back onto 4 unsecured networks in close proximity to my home. It has made no difference - 3 months later it is still the same. I have identified one of the vulnerable networks as my immediate neighbour, to whom I have spoken. Her attitude is that she will only bother to do something about it if she ever notices it giving her a problem. I have diplomatically reminded her of the dangers and offered to help - but my offer has been politely overlooked.What more can you do.
