I think that most of us have agreed that the last Tory government was dire in many respects, but this lot have out performed them in every sleeze department, and were they not in government would heve ended up in court a long time ago. The other lot as you call them are in the main untried, and we have no way have knowing how they would perform until, as and when the time occurs. It's no use going back in time for comparisons, it's now and the future that is important. Are you saying that you are happy with things as they are?

Don't count me in with any lot. The whole damned set up is rotten to the core.

It is all built on the principle of rewards for favours received.

Look at the origins of the honours system. Rewards by the monarch for winning a battle, murdering an opponent, loan of wife/daughter for a month, forcing more money out of the peasants etc. etc

It still goes on it's just that doublespeak, hypnotism, and tradition have resulted in us not seeing it for what it is.

The "New Year Honours" awarded to District Nurses, Salvation Army Captains, School Dinner Ladies and Sports Personalities who come in fifth, are just part of the smoke screen.

My hope is that out of the present slough of despond something better emerges, though due to the fact that "the authority to govern" is seen as meaning "the right to control" I fear I will never see it.
