Dear me!!  I think the old f***t deserves a pat on the back for the fact that there's no smell!

I have just spoken to his doctor who tells me he is booked into the the local ENT hospital for assessment of his olfactory system.

Breaking wind in public can be an embarrassment, as I found out in my later teens.

Amongst my activities was wrestling. I was a member of a Health and Fitness club where the main activities were weight lifting and wrestling. On one occasion we were having a Sunday competition against another local club and, as I was fairly tall for my age, those who knew best selected me to wrestle the youngest of the Taylor brothers. The Taylors were a well known wrestling family, two of whom were very skilled professional wrestlers.

It just so happened that I had been afflicted with a bit of a "tummy bug" and was just getting the better of it as the Sunday arrived.

I managed, through a sudden attack, to drop my opponent on the canvas and hold his shoulders down for the required three seconds to gain the first "fall".

This upset the Taylor spirit and the second round became a much more protracted business. At one point we were on the canvas heaving against each other when my wind reservoir over flowed with a resounding ripsnorter. I went to pieces and that was the end of the matter. He got his first fall there and then, and due to my youthful embarrassment he got his second with little struggle from yours truly in the next round

I realised afterwards that if I had shouted out,"You dirty sod" when I farted,it would have been my opponent that 'went to pieces' and I would have got my second fall on him, but such lessons learned when young that are valuable in later life.

Since the dogs have gone, it's hubby who gets the blame. :D If we're in a shop I'll look at him and say 'for god's sake' then walk off.......

Later in marriage when all pretence at being ladylike has gone it must be very hard to make new relationships when one partner dies. That's probably the main reason my marraige has survived the difficult times! I couldn't go through all the embarrassment of it all again!

Perhaps the club ought to reconsider the sale of "Cool Lager and Fine Ales" (as in the picture of Mr Fox) as they are, at least in part, likely to be responsible for the problem.

Catgate: Your expletive of "You dirty sod" wouldn't have been of much use if there had been a follow-through when wearing wrestling gear.

Your right pops.

In that respect it was a very "sporting" event, because 24 hours earlier I may well have done just that, such had been my physical state.
