I use Acronis with my wireless keyboard and mouse. I have also reinstalled Windows from the CD several times. :D

With respect andsome this does not clearly state that you have used the Acronis emergency CD to carry out a successful restore using Acronis.

You may well use your wireless units to take backups with Acronis or restore from Windows. You may well also have used the Microsoft CD to reinstall Windows. But have you booted with the Acronis CD and then used the wireless mouse and keyboard to set up the restore requirements....?

On my computer the wireless keyboard and mouse were "dead" after booting with the Acronis CD - it clearly failed to load the required USB drivers even though I created the emergency boot disc correctly.

Yes several times. :D

Yep, that was/is my experience too. I am running XP Pro SP2.

I wonder why andsome can get his pc to behave, when you and I Alan, plus many others on the problem forums cannot.

andsome do you talk to your pc? Does it have a pet name or something. Tell us your secret how you succeed where others fail.

[how's that for a cue for a response..!! B) ]

It is called Eric. The C drive is called Zoe, and the D drive is called Jazmin. :D

Have any of you contacted Acronis with this problem, and if so what was their answer, and if not, why not?

I contacted Acronis and they suggested that I reinstall the MS wireless driver - which I did - it made no difference.

However - I was already frustrated with the keyboard occasionally missing keystrokes so I took it as my cue to go back to a perfectly reliable corded keyboard and mouse from a previous life.
