Ahmad_issa174 Posted June 6, 2008 Report Share Posted June 6, 2008 hello everyonemy laptop was associated to my companies domain... today i tried to connect the laptop to my disktop ... so i changed the laptop's workgroup name to MSHOME (to match the disktops group name)... and it asked me if i wanted to remain within the company domain AND connect to another computer at the same time.. and i clicked yes ... it said that i needed to reboot for the effects to take place .. and i rebooted .. after restart, windows asked me to enter the password .. but this time the domain name was gone .. and i entered my old password and it didnt work :( .. i tried everything ... nothing seems to work :( . .. please someone tell me how i can bypass the username and password prompts .. or how to return everything the way before without having to login !!!!! id REALLY APPRECIATE UR HELP :( .. Dencandy Posted June 6, 2008 Report Share Posted June 6, 2008 Try this - Login Name type in "Administrator"; then leave the Password space blank. Hit Login. (This might let you login as the default Administrator user.)Have you tried System Restore using your usual password?Have you contacted your Administrator & asked his advice? andsome Posted June 6, 2008 Report Share Posted June 6, 2008 No one on the forum is allowed to help with bypassing passwords in case of fraud. Have you tried a System Restore? Ahmad_issa174 Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Share Posted June 6, 2008 thanx for ur responses yes i tried administrator with password blank .. and with my usual password .. and i tried safe mode .. i cant long in AT ALL!! .. i cant contact my administrator .. before tomorrow .. and i have to get some work done today .. really important !!i noticed smthing .. before .. i had third field in the windows log in prompt ... (domain), and it was filled with server-2000 ... after i changed the laptop's workgroup .. and restarted ... now i only ahve 2 feilds .. user name and password .. how i can i get back to the old prompt :( .. please help .. Whilst such a request may be perfectly legitimate there are times when discussions on this topic can be used for an illegitimate reason. I don't think he needs the Recovery Console to issue this simple net stat command.Unless, of course, he cannot enter into Windows in any mode.
