Iseem to have developed a problem with word on my computer I'm not very computer literate so if you can help be patient & explain in simple terms what I should do,I have produced compliment slips headings etc. to date recently tried to design a heading with shadows ( which I have done before succesfully)couldn't get it to work this time so I tried every option I could find, now when I type something out& try to print it I just get a blank sheet ,if I look at print preview it only shows a blank page even though the text is visible on my screen.Still cant get shadows by the way.Could anyone help me please?

Are you sure your printer's connected and properly working?

Since Print Preview also shows only a blank page, I am not sure if it is a printer issue. But on the other hand, Word has a way of accommodating to the printer - i.e. if the printer is removed, it can not use all installed fonts.

I would try to install the latest device driver for the printer.

Are you sure your printer's connected and properly working? Don't want to say you're stupid or anything, i like to stick to the more simpler ways of helping first. :D

The easiest way to do that would be to add the WordArt toolbar.

You can do this by a right-click into a blank space the top of your document, where the toolbars are located. Then from the menu select WordArt. Alternatively the Drawing toolbar includes WordArt. :)

On the odd occasion that Word has caused me any problem, I have found that it is best to uninstall Office, Run C Cleaner, then reinstall Office. :D
Thankyou,Will I lose everything I have previously made using Word & saved in my documents if I uninstall it?

No, you may lose some Word settings, but certainly no documents.

You will need to save any templates you have made as well.
Thanks to everyone for their help I have now found a way to restore my print facility If any one is interested I left clicked on format left clicked on font which opened up a window with lots of options includin shadow /strikethrough /hide etc. tried clicking on everything in turn eventually cliked on default instead of ok & print preview now shows everything I've typed on the page Alleliua. If you canstill be bothered or if you know I would like to know why I'm keen to learn rather than blundering along, but anyway thanks to everyone for your precious time.

Most of us spend a great deal of time blundering along. I know I do, anyway, it's a great way to learn. And as some one said: "The person who never a made a mistake, never made anything."
