British Gas has just announced it's profits. £992.000.000.00, poor things. No wonder they have to put their prices by another 35%. How much profit do theses gits want.

Do you know just how much it costs to keep a government quiet???

With the hike in Utilities prices generally, perhaps we'll all need to find other ways of keeping warm next winter.

I'd try jogging, but I don't think my knee joints would take the strain!

Who knows, maybe mind boggling might do the trick

The government is considering a windfall tax (like they imposed when they first came into power in 1997) but I don't think it will work as the energy companies will probably further increase prices to compensate adding to the inflation problem and increasing fuel poverty.

Also I am cynical as to the governments intention to help the poor and think that it is more likely to be used to plug their multi-billion 'black hole' at the Treasury!

They might also consider moving their headquarters out of the UK like some of the other companies have done, like Shire pharmaceuticals
