We decided to get away from the recent wet spell by popping back to the friends caravan down in the South of France for a couple of weeks. We're off next Tues. However the last few days seem to have been a bit of an Indian Summer!

Cheerio folks. Off tomorrow !0:10 flight from Newcastle to Nice. Should be at the caravan by 5 pm. Not sure how the clocks are doing at present. Back on Saturday week, arriving Newcastle ~7 pm. So will probably look in on the Sunday. If you can't be good - be careful!

No problems whatsoever this time. But on our last flight back from Nice in early September Anne was wheel out to the plane by one of the attendants who then folded up the chair and had it placed in the hold. On arrival at Newcastle the wheel chair was there waiting MINUS one foot rest. the chair had it's sticky luggage still attached. Reported it to the lost property desk who were flummaxed and couldn't trace it foot rest as being detachable they don't have the luggage tags. So forms were filled in etc. Reported the problem to our NHS wheelchair centre who had to fit 2 new ones. Finally had a phone call from the air lost luggage people who said they would entertain a claim. Told them we wouldn't bother. This trip I not on;y took her special cushion on board with us but also both foot rests - not taking any chances. Really filled up the overhead locker, as her walking sticks have to go there as well. Now I'm wondering, as the wheels are also detachable should I take those on board with us as well? These wheels are quite big.
