So clicked on it to see if there was an update - got the site - it said yes new version - click on "upgrade" - problem for me was there was only close window on the window!So trying to find how to uninstall - not on programs! Had a look on FF add ons there it was but unable to get it to uninstall - not working - weird.So went to trusty CCleaner and used their uninstall and wallah - gone. Wonderful program CCleaner.Thing is why did it stop working? thought I would go get a new version and bingo couldnt find it - must be going troppo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
-pops- Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 I gave up with SiteAdvisor some months ago when it decided, after an update, that it needed more of my screen to operate and installed extra full toolbar.As you are on Firefox, can I suggest you try WOT which works similarly to SA but is far less obtrusive. Dencandy Posted October 29, 2008 Report Share Posted October 29, 2008 As an experiment, I've just downloaded & installed Web of Trust (WOT) to run alongside McAfee SiteAdvisor in my Firefox browser. Sometimes they give different results: WOT emphasises privacy and reliability, while McAfee emphasis links to other bad sites.I'll keep them both running in parallel for a while & report back any further info.
