-pops- Posted December 5, 2008 Report Share Posted December 5, 2008 Hitch a ride?There is so much material goods exchange (mostly Japan -> Europe) and also travellers it is easy for a few tiny insects to hide in the packaging or in the goods themselves.Think of the instances when snakes and spiders are imported amongst fruit and vegetables. Only last week there was panic in my local Sainsbury's when a VERY large very hairy non-native spider walked out of a box of bananas.
