Converting picture Slides to Digital Format

Thanks, for the "ion" unit that you recommend, when you use it to scan and then transfer onto a CD do the resulting images come out the size of the original slide or are they enlarged when shown on Computer or Television via a DVD m/c?

The pictures are captured "full frame".

When shown on the monitor or TV via a DVD slide show they will fill the screen height - but not necessarily the width if you have a 16:9 ratio monitor and the pics are the normal 4:3 ratio.

I have used the Minolta DiMAGE Scan Dual for many years to scan my slides and photo negatives. It provides very high quality images (you decide the size and quality of the resulting images), and its image correction tools are very powerful and easy to use.

Unfortunately it seems that the product line is discontinued. However I am sure they are still available on the market.

johnoo I can't comment personally on the Ion units as I've never felt the need to archive my transparencies to PC. So my comments were based on how I'd approach the problem if I chose to and awareness of that particular item in the Maplin product range. You can clearly spend far more on such items as the Plustek Opticfilm range, if you've a mind to.
