johnoo Posted January 15, 2009 Report Share Posted January 15, 2009 I am running Xp SPP3, and currently do Back Ups of the Files on the system that I have created, ie I back up all of the Files in the "My Documents"area.Should I be doing more by Backing Up items that I would regard as "Systems Files" ie those found in the "My Computer" section.I have read that to do this there is a Wizard, by going to All Programs -- Accessories -- Systems Tools --- Back Up Wizard. however I can't find this on my setup.Opinions please should I be Backing Up more data, if so how? At any time you meet problems - you can restore the computer back to a stable state in roughly half an hour - much quicker than reinstalling Windows and all your software.If you subscribe to this forum you can buy Acronis at a much reduced price from the link at the top of the page. In some versions it's not always installed initially so you need to install it from the Windows installation disk. Insert the disk in the drive & select Browse This CD from the menu. Select Add-ons, then the MSBackup item. (By the way, you'll also see some other extras there that you don't have installed & can try these later.)If you go to Microsoft Help & Support & search for back up you'll find some guidance how to use it - or try Yahoo Answers.
