catgate
I have been thinking for quite a long time now that with the modern attitude to justice and punishment it should be possible to bring back the sentence of 'the death penalty'.I see that the current life sentence is about 12-15 years...about half of a life time. So, if this same principle were to be applied to the death penalty, the murderer would be half killed and released immediately. This would save enormously on costs and would put more money into the coffers to pay MP's expenses and the like.
AlanHo
I consider that any criminal who commits a crime worthy of a life sentence or the death panalty should be given the opportunity to make a significant service to society in return for a lesser sentence. They should be used for medical experiments and drug tests - it would save thousands of rabbits, beagles and apes lives and would expedite the advancement of medical science. If they survived say 5 years such service - they could then return to society having paid their dues.Just think of the advantages - at last we could perfect the hemorrhoid transplant operation. andsome
The whole problem with the death penalty is that mistakes can and have occurred.

AlanHo
The whole problem with the death penalty is that mistakes can and have occurred.Spot on andsome - the main mistake of course is the number of evil scum bags who have not been awarded the noose.I happen to believe that the death penalty is too kind for some of them - which is why I will use them for medical experiments when I come to power. Hb_Kai
They should be used for medical experiments and drug tests - it would save thousands of rabbits, beagles and apes lives and would expedite the advancement of medical science. This wouldn't be such a bad idea, but 5 years isn't enough for some of them so they should bring in some type of system - like a time difference in the severity of the crime. Obviously, the larger the crime gives the larger sentence.
