Spybot Tea Timer

Some advise/clarification please regarding the Tea Timer.

When I use my system with the Tea Timer ON, I feel that it is very slow.

Hence i have turned of (I Think) the Tea Timer by going into Mode -- Advanced -- Tools --- Resident (click RHS) - turn of tea Timer.

I have fully immunised the system.

Two questions, I think,

1 Is this the right configuration

2 Does it give me good protection

Note I also have AVG free running and a Firewall.

I was not happy using Teatimer either, and run Spybot without it. :D

I used to use it and I found it very slow too. But now I use either Comodo's protection or WinPatrol which do the same thing...

Tea Timer is only protection against any changes to the registry, may be a big thing to you depending on what type of stuff you do with your computer. But it stops viruses from messing stuff up too much.

Agree with the above. The Teatimer is a real-time monitor, which means its running all the time and scans everything. You shouldn't really need it since you have AVG & a firewall which are also running all the time.
