My beloved, I am Mrs. Marina Thomas, I am 58 years old from Kuwait, I am suffering

from a long time cancer of the Lungs which also affected my hearing ability and

my brain, from all indication my conditions is really deteriorating and it is

quite obvious that, according to my doctors they have advised me that I may not

live too long, this is because the cancer has gotten to a very bad stage. I was

brought up from a motherless babies home, was married to my late husband for

twenty years without a child. My husband died in a fatal motor accident. Since

his death I decided not to re-marry, I sold all my inherited belongings and

deposited all the sum

of $23 million dollars and Two Trunk Box (Family valuables/Personal Jewelries)

with a Private Bank & Securities. Presently, this money is still with them

Presently, I'm with my laptop in a hospital where I have been under going

treatment for cancer of the lungs. I have since lost my ability to talk and my

doctors have told me that I have months or year to live, but all depend on my

ability to respond to the new treatment that will be prescribed. My wish is for

the money to be distributed each year among the charity organization and the

motherless babies home where I come from I want a God fearing person, to also

use this money to fund foundation for children suffering from cancer,

orphanages. I took this decision, before I rest in peace because my time will

soon be up. I will require some of your details like your full Name/address,

age, personal email, occupation i no i cannot speak with you on phone but i

will keep it and introduce you to the Bank

were i kept the funds, i will give you all the documents, deposit secret

Question/answer and my pictures as soon as you agree to help me fulfil my wish

and take care of those children with illness and orphans.I await your speedy

reply. [email protected] or Kind regards, Mrs. Marina Thomas

I just know it's genuine, because she says so.

It makes three I've had in the last two day's from different people.

This has been a very thriving "business" for many, many years. I used to receive them in the 70's by mail - hand-written on airmail paper, in the 80's and early 90's by fax, then - cheapest and most effective of all - by email. And there are actually quite a number of people every year who fall for it! Some of them end up losing all their savings, some go to jail because the embezzled company money, and some even lose their lives when trying to meet with these criminals.

Pat, you omitted Telex in your list.

I knew someone who was caught by a Telex scam - just the same as the current email ones.

This person really should have been wiser - he was a qualified accountant and company secretary (director). He took many thousands of £££££ from the company as he was too dim to realise what was going on.

He's out of prison now.

I only ever received one of these by telex. I don't think telex was very popular, because you could identify the sender with the telex code (address? I don't remember exactly).

Nevertheless, it appears from your story that it seemed to have worked anyway!

This is just one of three I have received in two day's. The people who actually fall for these scams really must be kicking their own backsides by now.

It's as bad as the one I received from a South African Barrister who told me that my dear Uncle George had died, and that I was his closest living relative. George had left $250.000.000 in his Will to me as the rest of his family had died with him in the car crash. This Barrister only needed £10.000 and my Bank details to start the claim process going.

Poor Uncle George. I wonder who the hell he was.
