AlanHo
If the computer is doing all you need from it without problems - then the answer is no - it aint broke so don't fix it.Only you can decide whether to upgrade or not - but for sure if you move to Vista or the forthcoming Windows 7 an upgrade will be necessary. Alan2273
As you are using an AMD 7750 Dual Core Processer, this means you are using a 940 pin motherboard, unless you have an AM3 board, you should be able to upgrade your memory to at least 2GB's if not 4GB.This link will tell you what memory is compatable as 384 mb's is not a lot.http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/drammemory...CFZ4A4wody2jDPwIf you are unsure of the components in your computer download thius program and it will tell you.http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.phpOnce you upgrade the memory it will run Vista or the new Windows 7 operating systems. If you are happy to stay with XP, then a memory upgrade will still speed your computer up. johnoo
Quite interesting, when I do a "Crucial " scan it says I have 512Mb installed memory. But when I go into "My Computer" it says 384Mb of Ram.Why the differance?
CurlyWhirly
Quite interesting, when I do a "Crucial " scan it says I have 512Mb installed memory. But when I go into "My Computer" it says 384Mb of Ram.Why the differance?Your probably using onboard graphics (as opposed to a dedicated graphics card) and the onboard graphics are maybe using some of the system RAM - in your case 128 MB
