Also, when I go to Control Panel>Network Connections and right click on the "1394 connection" icon, there is no option like "View available wireless Networks." Seshomaru Samma Posted July 14, 2009 Report Share Posted July 14, 2009 technohobbit17,you need a driver for the wireless card on your laptop, the link you provided is for the router , you do not need a driver for a router.do you know what wireless card you have ?you can do a google search for "wireless card" adding the name of your laptop , for example "wireless card dell inspiron 1150". if you find that difficlut tell us what laptop you have ,we will figure it out... Seshomaru Samma Posted July 15, 2009 Report Share Posted July 15, 2009 Before we install drivers lets try something else1st go to the device manager (Start -> Run -> devmgmt.msc -> OK)look for "network adapters" or something similar, see if your wireless card is thereif it is - then press "fn" key and "F2" key at the same time, Gateway like to lock their wireless that way, maybe you just need to unlock it.if this doesn't work , then this is how you install the driver:1. click on it, it will create a dir called c:cabs or something2. go to device manager3. locate the wireless card (should have a yellow question mark on it meaning that the driver isnt installed)4. click on the wireless card in the device manager and choose something like "update driver" (sorry don't have a windows here)5. choose" install from a known location (advanced)" (or something similar...)6. tell windows to install the driver from the c:cabs location7. profit.....
