"Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off NOW!"

Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.

Not as satisfying as good old fashioned laziness. NO WAY would I ever have a desire to indulge in that horrible W word again. :D

Hard work never killed anyone, but it certainly prevented many from enjoying its fruits.

With the greatest of respect I would humbly differ.

One of my great uncle's brother-in-law's half brother on his mothers side - Jason Gummidge - had a fruit farm in the vale of Evesham. He specialised in apples and was too mean to enlist any help when it came to harvesting them.

Doing it on his own was dreadfully hard work and it caught up with him one year when he over exerted himself climbing up and down the ladders, had a heart attack and died right there in the orchard.

He lay there for several weeks until his body was found by some scrumpers who saw a pair of feet sticking out from a pile of windfall apples under one of the large trees.

Thus I would argue that he was killed by hard labour - but I will admit it prevented him from enjoying his fruits.

Well I suppose death is caused by some funny things. I remember my father telling of his great uncle Ruben, who was killed by a surfeit of music.

A piano fell on him from a third story as it was being lowered onto a horse and cart...well just the cart really...the horse was tone deaf.

That seems to be a fairly frequent thing with horses, as far as I can see. Very few of them become musicians.

Again I find myself having to beg to differ.

Horses are great at imitating the sound of two half coconut shells being banged together. So good - they now use the sound of a real horse in The Archers.

I would not call it exactly music. It's more of a rythm thing. They could probably be used in RC family planning (but not anywhere near Balmoral}.

It was also very strange timing that got us into Iraq.

I am surprised that you listen to soap operas, you will be telling us next about all the adventures in East Enders and Coronation street.
