savak
I've access to another computer that will not allow anyone to Logon even in Safe Mode, the system automatically shuts down immediatally after the Logon screen.I took the drive out and slaved it to another working machine and got a few threats cleaned using an up to date version of AVG FREE, but the problem persists.Any help in resolving this is welcomeThanksGraeme
Belatucadrus
Sounds like a dodgy PSU to me.
Dencandy
Yes, if the hard drive works with the 2nd machine but not the 1st, I imagine some sort of hardware problem with the 1st machine. Beyond my area of experience, I'm afraid.

savak
Symptomatic of a failing power supply unit. Not a power supply issue. Same thing happens exactly on the machine the drive came out of.Will Spybot and Adaware successfully scan and clean the drive as a slave?Graeme
