Coreper
hi,ive got this button on my laptop which starts the default Media Center application. [lets call that button, the Media Center Button]At first that "default Media Center app" was Acer Arcade Deluxe, but after uninstalling that one, it became Windows Media Center. And I was wondering if i could do one of the following things:1-Change the function of the Media Center Button, so it starts any program i want [for example notepad.exe]or2-Somehow make Notepad the default Media Center app [in other words: making windows believe notepad is the new default Media Center app]If you know anything about this, please let me know! Thanks in advancebtw: if you need more info, just ask :)
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
What kind of "button" are you talking about? (On your screen? On the keyboard? Somewhere else on the computer?)
Coreper
on the keyboard of my laptop :) [its one of those extra buttons]you can see the buttons at the left side of the keyboard area
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Since this does not seem to be a standard keyboard, check out the keyboard properties if you can assign any functions to these buttons. You can also take it up with your PC manufacturer's support desk, or support group/forum. Coreper
Since this does not seem to be a standard keyboard, check out the keyboard properties if you can assign any functions to these buttons.i already had a look at that, and strangely enough, it allows me to customize all the special keys, but not that one XDbefore you ask: why not change the other ones? well, because i sometimes press the Media Center button by accident :S so if it will start Notepad, it wouldnt matter much :)

Boris
You can also take it up with your PC manufacturer's support desk, or support group/forum.Because this is a non-standard button I think your only hope is trying Pat's suggestion above. Hb_Kai
The majority of the time, you should consider yourself very lucky to receive a reply from manufacturer's such as this within a week. If there is no keyboard property for it, then you may have to put up with being the media center button. One thing you could do though is, if you don't have it installed already, download and install the client software, from the same people who makes the drivers, updates for the drivers and whatever else it is that they make. The client software may include other options that aren't already available to you.I have had to do this a few times just to get one option available to me. Hb_Kai
I don't think they like you. :Pwho? The owners of the place you were hosting that picture.Key 14, eManager; does that have anything to do with that "special-e"?Make a copy of this file and put it on your desktop, remove the key 14 line from the original and press CTRL + S to save it, then try clicking the the media center button and see if it doesn't work anymore. If it does, replace the original file with the copy you made on your desktop by copying and pasting the copy to the program files folder and try again with key 32, sync center. I doubt it would be this but it could be worth a shot. Again, if that one doesn't work, replace it with the copy you have on your desktop so that all the button functions go back to how they were to start of with.
