After having more memory fitted combined with a BIOS update in order to have a better type of memory fitted yesterday, it has been suggested that I run MEMTEST. In fact the computer is noticeably better since the upgrade, what is the recommendation on here please? I see on Google that there are a wide variety of such tools available if I go ahead. :D

My missus has just started sewing my name tag inside my underpants in case I get lost.

Buggered if I would undergo a memory test though andsome. Next thing you know, they are wheeling you off to the "Twilight Home for The Bewildered" - - Just my opinion. :D

Silliness over. - Carry on and answer Boris's question.

Belarc advisor will confirm the size of each memory stick in each slot.

Start > Computer > System Properties............. will show you how much memory is available to Windows (probably 3.25 GB)

If the computer is running sweetly - why bother with running Memtest.

If it aint broke - don't try and fix it...is my motto (except when I get the urge to have a fiddle... )

Belarc and SIW show all is OK. 3.5 GB is available for use. I will leave well alone. Thanks all. :D
