AlanHo Posted January 10, 2010 Report Share Posted January 10, 2010 Before you send your wife out to shovel snow from the rear patio, front drive and pavement - make sure she is well wrapped up with several layers of warm clothing, has insulated gloves and a suitable hat.Also take a hot drink out to her (with a splash of her favourite spirits) after each hour or so. As a final touch of consideration - put the electric blanket on so that when she has finished, she is encouraged to go back to bed with you to get warm again. I have little doubt that Artist will recognise your patronising sarcasm and now appreciate that I am squarely on the side of our little ladies (and the big ones)Believe me - it is not worth it - our ladies have a hard enough life as it is without us making it worse.Two subjects have been mentioned - washing up and ironing. Would it really hurt you to help by filling up the bowl with hot water, adding the washing up liquid, piling up the dishes alongside and helping her to don her marigolds before you go off and watch the footie whilst she does the chores.What about getting out the ironing board and erecting it for her - you know they can be heavy and awkward. It will remind her that she is married to a considerate and strong hunk. As an extra sign of your affection, fill up the steam iron and pile up all the clothes to be ironed alongside the ironing board - she will truly welcome that - and will seek ways of showing her appreciation after she has finished.Every little helps - you know it makes sense - it's what your right arm's for.
