doug
Not directly relevant but on my Honeymoon - with the first wife in the lounge. none of the others around at present - we stayed at a Scottish Farmhouse B & B run by the local Bank managers wife (I had only just got over Glandular Fever and all our plans had gone down the pan so we were touring). this was about 1965 +/- a couple of years - dont tell Err in the lounge I've forgotten again. Anyway when I paid the bill in the following morning I was given some Scottish pound notes (rememmber pound notes, or even 10 bob notes?) I was thrown never having seen any before as I'm a Cockney and She is from Brighton, anyway I said could I have some English ones instead because where we were from they dont take jam pot labels! Honestly I had visions of the robersons jam pot labels because they were so colourful. She was very taken aback, but obliged. My applologies to all my close Scottish friends (and I do have a couple of well sozzled ones).
