artist Posted February 23, 2010 Report Share Posted February 23, 2010 My daughter got a nasty virus (from facebook, apparently)Before we knew it was a virus she tried a system restore - didn't work. Norton didn't completely remove it - but automatically ran a scan and did a backup.The upshot of this saga was that she had to get a man in to sort it out.I just have a little worry, for her, that the virus may be in that backup. It just backs up on to the disc - bit useless in a crash, I would have thought, but, hey, she thinks I am an idiot...I told her to ring 'the man' to see if he deleted (?) that backup but she says he probably did which wouldn't be a good enough answer for me.What do you think? Until the bank rang and said online banking would have to cease because of a virus threat.Panic ! - What other things could be compromised ? EBay ? PayPal? What other information have we got on there that someone could use ?Investigation uncovered masses of viruses, trojans, and rootkits.I can understand teenage rebellion, been there, having raised two boys. But these are sensible 30+ going on 40 year old adults. So what is going on ?There would seem to be some kind of resentment going on. "We are the bright young things, it is we who are the product of the computer age."They are getting ready for the role reversal where they look after us, wrap us up in a nice warm wooly jumper and sit us down in front of the television for the evening, and hope our incontinence pads last out until morning.Things are not going exactly to plan though !.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.Also I think you can draw a parallel with watching "Mum & Dad" dancing at a family wedding.
