AlanHo Posted August 26, 2010 Report Share Posted August 26, 2010 We are off to the Yorkshire Dales today until September 5th in order to check whether Yorkshire weather is wetter than Solihull weather - whatever we do and whenever or wherever we go.We are staying in an old railway stationmaster's house near Leyburn on the Wenslydale line. Our patio is the disused station platform. There are 6 trains a day in each direction at this time of the year - two of them being drawn by steam engines. I shall be taking my old Ian Allen train spotters book to make a record of their numbers.As usual - my trusty laptop will be with me so that I can continue writing my weekly column for the Birmingham Press newspaper. I have a broadband dongle - if it works in God's country I just might pop in here to keep up with the daily avalanche of posts on the forum.... Ta ta for now.....
