cactus rose
Hello,Would you explain to me how to unzip a downloaded file from a trusted source. Must I purchase a software to do this? I never had to with older versions of Windows. Now I have Vista OS.The new help menu is I find virtually worthless for some items. Thanks for a reply or recommendation. :)Cactus rose
andsome
I have never used Vista, but in Windows 7 if I double click a zipped file, I get the option to unzip it and save the files to a folder. This is built in, and I think this will apply to Vista too.B)

Scythe
I have never used Vista, but in Windows 7 if I double click a zipped file, I get the option to unzip it and save the files to a folder. This is built in, and I think this will apply to Vista too.B)This is true, vista also has the built-in zip reader/writer (doesn't XP have it too?) Then again, it may not be a zip archive, use 7zip to access virtually any archive, it's free and open source. If you're not sure what package to get, get the 32-bit (x86) version, that'll run on any windows.Examples of other archive formats include .rar, .tar, .tar.gz. MANEMAN
With well over 2000 views now this post seems extremely popular. I was thinking when I originally posted it that it would probably just stay in double figures for hits. John.
