It works OK on two other forums I post on so it seems confined to just this forum. Firefox is working OK though. This post is all one paragraph because I am using IE10 and Windows 8. I have tried putting IE10 into compatibility mode for IE9 and IE8 but the problem remains. The return key does nothing. I have also tested 7 other forums I occasionally participate in and none of them have the same problem. It is obviously something to do with the software used on this forum for rendering text. Googling the problem reveals that it applies to just a few forums that use a particular engine and that this is one of them.
