MANEMAN
Part way through helping my youngest son to wallpaper his lounge on Saturday we received a phone call from the care home to advise us that Glynis's Mum had passed away that very morning, and so it was tools down and rush off to the home. A few phone calls around to the Funeral Director and Methodist Minister who are both personal friends, and then back to the wallpapering. Gwen was in her 90th year so her life expectancy was not thought to be very much longer. The end of an era, and a goodbye to a very nice Mother-in-Law who I had the pleasure to know for 49 years. R.I.P. Gwen. - We are going to miss you. Our next door neighbours of 34 years are almost like family. Last Monday Josie (63 years old) went into hospital for a quite simple knee replacement, and was recovering well until yesterday when she developed Septicemia and Pneumonia. She is now on life support, - dyalisis to change her blood, and they have had to amputate a finger that was quite normal and useful before she had the knee operation. - Good old NHS. - She is still in a critical condition by the way. We did manage, whilst all this has been going on to finish wallpapering the boy's lounge. :D All part of life's rich tapestry, and for "some" life goes on. I have happened to notice this evening whilst finally sitting in the armchair with my laptop, that even after i had mentioned a death in the family on a previous post, one particular dear soul continued to make snide remarks pointed in my direction. I have skin as thick as two rhino's me dear so, it makes little difference to me. I will still continue to post on the forum as usual when life returns to normal for our little family in a day or two. - I never, ever let folks with dubious and questionable motives contained within their posts throw me off-track. To that person I would just like to say: Many people may think that actually trying extremely hard to be offensive at the time of death in a family, rather than offer condolences is maybe a slightly sick motivational move with some sort of a twisted and unknown objective. - Who will ever truly know exactly what people will think of you for doing that ? I for one am not particularly interested what others may think of you or about you, nor for that matter am I insulted by your behaviour if that was your aim. I do not judge you.- It is of course entirely up to you how you present yourself to the world, and how you wish people to think of you and judge you both now and in the future when obviously you think it is normal to be obnoxious at the time of a death. It does not really require that anyone to insult you on the forum does it ? - When you do it so beautifully all by yourself. Here's hoping that nothing so unfortunate happens to you or any of your family in the near future. John. .=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=. Will start to read and write posts again, only as soon as we have: Seen Doctors, registered the death, got the funeral over, soothed other elderly relatives, visited neighbours in hospital, and unwound ourselves from the floor. :lol:In all fairness to myself and the rest of the family, and as an act of respect I will close the computer down for the time being.Keep smiling. Humour oils the wheels of life.

andsome
John, I sincerely hope that the extremely tiny minded person who caused your comments above, will have the decency to post a PUBLIC apology in this thread, but I have my doubts. I was absent from the forum for some time, because although I too am thick skinned I got fed up with snide posts. These people undoubtedly have a mind of sorts, albeit a very tiny one, but I doubt if a scan of their skulls would actually find a brain.
